The Ramos Gin Fizz: The hardest cocktail to make
The dedication required to make this drink became very much apparent when several bartenders would stand in relay taking turns to shake the cocktail, as the shaker was way too cold to solely handle for the 10+ minute period necessary for shaking. The only way to make it on your own this way was with a prayer that you don't get frostbite or a sprained shoulder.
Fortunately, the discomfort of shaking the Ramos Gin Fizz is now an issue of the past. Part of our inspiration for The Watson Shaker came from this story, where this drink now comes with little-to-no effort in a shortened period of time. Perhaps it's fair to say that hand-shaking a cocktail for 10 minutes could deter one from attempting this drink, which is unfortunate because this cocktail is a must try. Our reimagined automatic cocktail shaker will take matters into its own hands, so sit back and learn how to make this drink
The Recipe: Let's make it!
Lets begin with the ingredients...
- 2 ounces (60ml) gin

- 3/4 ounce (22ml) simple syrup
- 1/2 ounce (15ml) heavy cream
- 1/2 ounce (15ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 ounce (15ml) freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 fresh egg white
- 2-3 dashes orange flower water
- 2-3 dashes vanilla extract (optional)
- Carbonated Water
- Ice (for shaking)
In most cases, a lot of technique and attention to detail is required, but why should it... Using the Watson Shaker, it's as simple as watching it create your masterpiece in front of your eyes once you flick the dial to the 'shake' setting.
Now let's get onto the method!
1. Put all the ingredients in the shaker except for the soda. Add ice.
2. Set on shake for 3 minutes. The patent-pending mesh inside the Watson shaker does all the frothing for you without needing a dry shake.
3. Once the shaking is finished, strain the cocktail into it. Finally, pour a little bit of club soda into the middle of the drink and watch the foam rise above the glass.
4. Apply the garnish of your choice and serve it up!
